Biography

Hi there! My name is Maia MacDonald, and I currently teach Grade 2 at Mother Teresa. This will be my 5th year living and teaching in Grande Prairie. I love doing anything and everything outdoors, travelling, exploring, eating and living healthy, and being with friends and family.

I am from Antigonish, Nova Scotia. Lucky for me, Antigonish is home to St. Francis Xavier University, so after graduating high school I stayed in my hometown to go to university. During my undergrad I majored in Psychology and Sociology, then went on to complete my Bachelor of Education, with a focus in Elementary education. I have loved working with children my entire life.

After graduating in 2014, I spent an amazing month driving across Canada as I made the move to Grande Prairie to teach Kindergarten at St. Kateri. In 2015, I joined the Mother Teresa family and taught Kindergarten for 2 more years, including a year of Montessori kindergarten. I loved teaching kindergarten!  In 2017 I started teaching Grade 2, and I LOVE it! Grade 2 is so much fun and we have a great year of learning, discovery, fun, and friendsips ahead!
