Biography
My name is Monique House (Payne). I teach grade 1/2 Montessori. In the past I have taught k-6 French, a 3/4 split, junior high, kindergarten and grade 2. I have worked in the Newfoundland and Labrador public district, a private Catholic School in Newfoundland and in the past 6 years I have worked for Grande Prairie Catholic. I am originally from a very small town in Newfoundland called Cow Head with a population of approximately 500 people and one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. However growing up in a small town did not limit the possibilities to experience sports and the world around me. I played on many sports teams including, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, cross country running, basketball, figure skating and hockey. It was a 45 minute drive to arrive at the hockey rink but that never stopped me. I traveled many place while in high school including Montreal, Paris, London, and Miami. School trips were one of my favorite high school memories.
I attended Memorial University where I attained my two degrees. A B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Science and my B.Ed with a focus in Science. In 2014 I attained my Montessori training through U of BC.
The most current things that I enjoy doing are camping, knee boarding, wake boarding, playing volleyball, skiing, softball and traveling the world.
Many people that know me will know my dog, Willow. She is my pride and joy.
