Meghan Johnson

Teachers - Elementary - Gr. 1/2 Montessori

I would like to introduce myself. My name is Meghan Johnson I am 26 years old. I am a new Grade 1/2 teacher here at Mother Teresa Catholic School. I have taught Grade 1 in Prince Edward Island with a co-teacher for my Practicum for half a year, then I lived in Costa Rica and I taught college students English for 9 months. I then returned home and moved myself to Drayton Valley, Alberta where I taught Kindergarten for a year. After that I decided to try a new country again, and I moved to Australia for 2 years. It was an amazing experience. Yes, I learned how to SURF :) I also learned how to handle spiders and snakes properly and safely. Sharks on the other hand are another story all together! I am originally from Vernon River, Prince Edward Island. Vernon River is a very small community! When I went to my grade school there were a total of 98 students in a Kindergarten to Grade 9 School. This meant there were a lot of opportunities to shine as a sports and music enthusiast. I play the guitar and the violin but only by ear as I have a hard time learning how to read music. I am also still a lover of hockey and soft ball I play every chance I get.

I attended the University of Prince Edward Island from 2009 - 2015, where I obtained my Bachelor of Arts degree with a Major in English and a Minor in French, as well as, my Bachelor of Education Degree.

The most current things I enjoy doing are travelling, hiking, camping, fishing, reading, art (drawing and painting), playing my guitar and singing, as well as, yoga.
