Biography

My name is Janelle Bablitz and I am currently teaching Grade 1/2 Community at Mother Teresa School. This is my 12th year of teaching in this district. I taught Grade one for 3 years at Holy Cross School and I have been at Mother Teresa since it first opened.  I am very excited for the 2018-2019 school year as I watch my students grow and develop in their learning and faith.

I was born and raised in Grande Prairie and knew I wanted to be a teacher from a young age. My mom was a teacher in this district for over 20 years. I spent a lot of time in her classroom helping her and learning from her. My sister is a teacher and I also have many cousins, aunts and uncles that are teachers as well.

I met my wonderful husband, Blaine, while going to school at St. Joseph Catholic High School and we’ve been together for 21 years and married 12 years. After I graduated from the University of Alberta, I traveled with Blaine to the United States and Germany while he played hockey. We have two wonderful and caring children; Jake (8 years) and Tessa (6 years). They keep us very busy but it is a lot of fun to watch them learn and excel at new things.

I look forward to a classroom community filled with excited learners, who will grow in their learning, their faith and friendship with each other and Jesus.
